Fresh off being crowned the inaugural In-Season Champions, Ethan and JC are back to break it all down, including AD’s dominance, the rise of the Vandelorian, and LeBron entering a territory that simply hasn’t been seen before.
The Lakers look locked in, connected, and ready to win, but the trade rumors will continue to spin. Will LA look to deal or will they choose to keep it real?
Come on in and join us on a short stroll down Lakers Blvd as LA prepares for the next third of its season to unfold.
As you all know from day 1 Ethan and JC have been huge supporters of the In-Season Tournament and now your Los Angeles Lakers are on the brink of winning the dang thing!
Ok, maybe JC wasn’t the biggest supporter of it, but he is now, and he tells you all about it in the latest episode.
He also goes over those darn trade rumors and whether or not they’d be worth to pursue.
The fellas are back and, dare we say, so are the Lakers?
Supported by LeBron James playing like the half human half extraterrestrial that he is, LA may be on their way to figuring a few things out and cementing their spot as the inaugural in-season tournament favorites.
Ethan and JC deliver a passionate ode to LeBron, dish on Austin Reaves off the bench, Jarred Vanderbilt’s impending return, and more toward what it’ll take for these Lakers to truly hit on all cylinders.
Come for the discussion, stay for the fruit of the day!
Winless on the road, and hopeless on the glass, the Lakers find themselves in a familiar place to begin the season.
Ethan and JC are back to discuss how the Lakers underwhelming start to the season has a long-term impact that might wind up wasting LeBron’s greatness.
The fellas also discuss Christian Wood’s evolving role, the importance of role players on a team build around stars, and what needs to happen for the Lakers to be grab it at the pomegranate and not trying to figure out how to crack the shell.
Sitting at 2-2, things could be much worse at 1-3, or even a dreaded 0-4. But this Lakers team rallies and fights. Ethan takes you through the first week, guides us through some breathing exercises as the marathon of a season gets underway.
Well as my old high school football coach would say ‘Well, that ain’t worth a crap!’ As the Lakers lose the season opener vs the defending champions that knocked them out of the playoffs a season ago, is it all doom and gloom or were there positives in this game that could inspire hope?
JC takes you through the loss and examines if it’s time to panic or simply just 1 of 82 and sometimes losses are inevitable. We’ll go through the box score and see where improvement might be needed, or what else to look forward to this season. It’ll be a long one, folks, as they always are, but at least this is a scrappier bunch than we’ve seen before.
The preseason is almost over which means the regular season is about to begin! The guys are back on a duo episode and they go over what they’ve been excited to see in the preseason.
We put a little extra focus on Max Christie and Christian Wood as the X-factors that could really help this Lakers team elevate to championship aspirations.
It’s a good episode, the guys are excited. Let’s get this season going!
I don’t know about you guys but JC is fired up about this upcoming NBA season.
The roster is versatile, there’s so much shooting, there’s options galore at every position oh and there’s an open roster spot ready for buyout szn!
This episode covers that and a little bit of the Damian Lillard trade to Milwaukee, no predictions here, just excitement over what could be with this beautiful roster full of veteran and Baby Lakers!
The last episode we recorded was rejoicing in the moves the Lakers made during free agency retaining Austin Reaves, bringing in Taurean Prince, Cam Reddish and Jaxson Hayes.
Things have only gotten better since. Anthony Davis’s future as a Laker has been secured with an extension, as well as Jarred Vanderbilt, oh and the Lakers ended up with Christian Wood after all.
Ethan takes you through this one solo, but both hosts will be back soon as the show ramps back up to begin the exciting new season. Welcome back, Ethos Lakers family!
Move over Dumbledore, Rob Pelinka is throwing his hat into the ring to be the new king of the wizarding world with the work he’s done in NBA Free Agency.
With the rest of the league spending like drunken sailors, Pelinka and the Lakers front office identified their guys, made their pitch, and kept the books clean to build a roster around LeBron and AD that actually makes sense.
Ethan is back to deliver his take on the signings, what else the Lakers need, and to give some of his best and worst of the league-wide spending spree so far.
It’s the league’s second season and we LOVE it in Lakerland!
The NBA season is over, the Denver Nuggets are your NBA Champions, let the off-season begin!
JC takes you through where his mind is as far as this Lakers team is, what the Lakers priorities should be, he praises Austin Reaves a lot (as he should).
He also brings up that there might be a changing of the guard(s?) as far as how teams philosophically build their rosters going forward. Is Golden State still a threat or do teams need to build around the idea of stopping Nikola Jokic in Denver?
He’ll answer all that and more in the latest episode of Ethos Lakers!
The up and down season is over, and not on a positive note but a nebulous one.
After a 4-0 sweep by the Denver Nuggets, suddenly LeBron looks old and is talking retirement. Anthony Davis isn’t an everyday superstar, Reaves might be too expensive to retain and history might repeat itself if the Lakers go after a high priced point guard at the expense of their young core.
JC takes you through what the priority list for the Lakers should be this summer, his thoughts on the season as a whole and his assessment of Darvin Ham’s rookie year as a head coach.
It’s a bittersweet ending and episode, but hopefully one that fills Lakers with some enthusiasm for the upcoming off-season.
Let’s just call it what it appears to be: The Lakers have run out of gas.
D’Angelo Russell and Dennis Schroder have been more invisible than Casper, Jamal Murray is hotter than a sizzling fajita skillet at your favorite Mexican restaurant, and when Nikola Jokic is a footnote and the Lakers still can’t figure it out, it’s not a good sign for what’s about to come.
The Lakers are caught somewhere in between thinking about what’s next and trying to stay present to take at least one game in these Western Conference Finals, but it’s going to take more than just Anthony Davis or LeBron James—or even Austin Reaves—for LA to have it their way at least one time vs. a better Denver team.
The Nuggets are talented, deep, connected, and that’s what has the Lakers on life support as they try desperately not to have their season ended on Monday in a four-game sweep.
Ethan returns on a solo ride to discuss what has happened to the Lakers, offer some potential perspective, and how the Lakers can get back into the series one game at a time.
The Lakers are now four wins away from reaching the NBA Finals, and eight wins away from securing another championship. As our old friend Shaquille O’Neal would say: “CAN YOU DIG IT?!”
LeBron might be the third oldest player in the league, but he continues to show why he’s unlike anyone or anything we have ever seen. Anthony Davis turned a couple of narratives on their heads, Austin Reaves is back to being HIM, and Dennis Schroder starring as the irritant is exactly what this Lakers group needs to continue to play cohesive basketball.
Ethan and JC link up to discuss the second-round win, the Warriors immediate future, and how the Lakers can look to replicate their success vs. Golden State as they move on to the No. 1 seeded Denver Nuggets.
Get out the sweet and sour sauce for what should be a juicy Western Conference Finals ahead.
Lakers are one win from the Western Conference Finals! From a 2-10 start to the season to the brink of the Western Conference Finals. Who would have thought?
JC takes you through the win last night and the masterful night off the bench for Lonnie Walker IV, a night off the bench no one’s seen since one Kobe Bean Bryant did it way back in ’97.
A lot more in this episode, you won’t want to miss it. JC congratulates Alex Caruso on a huge honor, talks about potential off-season moves for the Warriors and the Lakers and he even yells at a dog! You’ll have to listen to that to believe it.
