Here’s some Pick ‘Em plays our team is looking at for Thursday’s round one action!
PrizePicks
Jon Rahm UNDER 67 Strokes
Rahm got better and better as the week went on last week and that resulted in a tie for 10th. A key indicator in that was he seemed to finally find something with the putter. While his track record at the Travelers is nothing to ride home about, this line is too high. Rahm should be able to take advantage of favorable scoring conditions on Thursday.
Justin Thomas OVER 68.5 Strokes
Until I am given a reason not to, I am shorting Justin Thomas. 65th, MC, and MC are the results in his last three tournaments played and the last time we saw him, he was firing an 81 on Friday at the US Open. Normally, that wouldn’t be reason for concern because it is the US Open and things happen, but Thomas was only one of two players eclipsing 80 during the first two days of play. Thomas also has a rather blah history at TPC Rover Highlands to add to the case against him.

Sahith Theegala OVER 2.5 Birdies
Theegala can make a lot of boneheaded bogeys sometimes, but he also makes birdies in bunches. In six career rounds at TPC River Highlands, Theegala has gone over this line in all six. With potential rain in the forecast for Thursday, that should soften the course and leave ample scoring opportunities for players to take advantage of. Click the over with confidence on this one.
Viktor Hovland UNDER 3.5 Bogeys
While it wasn’t the result Hovland backers were looking for last week at LACC (19th), Hovland still enters this week in tremendous form with four top 20’s in a row, including a win at the Memorial. Hovland has played TPC River Highlands twice in his career and has been under this number in six of eight rounds. His current form and course fit should keep the bogeys to a minimum on Thursday.
