George Kirby OVER 6.0 Pitcher Strikeouts

You will probably be seeing a lot of strikeouts in this game and in this series. The Twins and the Mariners rank first and second in total strikeouts over the last 15 days, 30 days and over the duration of the season. I like both pitchers to go over their strikeout props, but if I had to lean one way, I’d lean towards George Kirby, whose strikeout prop sits at 6.0 strikeouts while Pablo Lopez’s is a little higher at 7.5 strikeouts. Kirby’s last start came against this same Twins squad just five days ago, where he tied his career high in strikeouts with 10 punchouts over seven innings.

Julio Urias OVER 4.5 Pitcher Strikeouts

Urias has not been at his best this season. Despite that, he has still been excellent at Chavez Ravine. In equal innings pitched (37.2), Urias has allowed 33 runs on the road while only giving up 10 runs at home. Urias is 5-1 in six home starts and has gotten five or more strikeouts in all but one of those six starts. Over the last week, the Blue Jays rank fifth in total strikeouts and are averaging right around 10 strikeouts per game during that time period.

    Casey Schmitt UNDER 0.5 Singles

It has been a really rough stretch for rookie Casey Schmitt. In 43 at-bats in July, Schmitt has only gotten four hits. Three were singles and there’s one double in there, but that’s good for only a .093 batting average in the month. The Giants will have a chance to put the hurt on their rivals across the bridge, but while Schmitt is in this brutal form, it is worth taking the under on his props.

Max Muncy OVER 0.5 Batter Walks

Max Muncy is really hot at the plate currently. He has homered in three straight games and in four out of his last five. He is seeing the ball well and his walk rate always ranks near the top of the league. He is 97th percentile in BB%, according to baseball savant. He drew a walk on Monday and has drawn a walk in three out of his last four contests. Right-hander, Chris Bassitt, starts for Toronto on Tuesday and Muncy has a 20% walk rate against right-handers.

Corbin Burnes OVER 6.5 Total Ks

If you’re reading this and wondering who is giving out Corbin Burnes at only 6.5 strikeouts, ThriveFantasy is your answer. This number is sitting at eight at every other sportsbook and pick ’em site, so you’re getting a great opportunity to play this number. In Burnes’ last two starts, he’s given up a combined four hits and gotten a combined 23 strikeouts. One of those starts came against this same Reds team, where the 2021 Cy Young winner struck out 13 batters over six innings. This young Cincinnati lineup will swing big and that should lead to another healthy strikeout tally for the Brewers’ ace.

Gleyber Torres OVER 1.5 Total Bases

This is another great price on ThriveFantasy for a guy who has registered over 1.5 total bases in nine out his last 11 games. Torres has quietly put together an excellent month, hitting .325 with an .890 OPS. He homered in two out of the three games against the Royals in the previous series and now the crosstown Mets limp into to Yankee Stadium to begin a two game set. This Yankees team could look a lot different by this time next week, but until then, Torres will enter this series as the Yankees’ most reliable hitter.
