Kenta Maeda OVER 5.5 Pitcher Strikeouts

This number moved from last night, when it was sitting at 5.0 pitcher strikeouts. I wouldn’t be scared off, despite that increase in the line. The Royals present an easy matchup for Maeda and he actually has already faced them, which was in a July 4th start at home. In that start, Kenta Maeda looked sensational, going seven innings and striking out nine batters.

Tarik Skubal OVER 5.0 Pitcher Strikeouts

Unlike Maeda, this number has moved down from last night when it was sitting at 5.5 pitcher strikeouts for Skubal. Skubal has only made four starts this year and besides allowing seven runs to the Royals, he did not allow a run in any of his other three starts. Skubal struck out nine batters in his last start and his pitch count went north of 80, which will be key for him getting over five whiffs in today’s game.

    Cristopher Sanchez OVER 4.0 Strikeouts

In Sanchez’s last outing, he registered eight strikeouts against the Baltimore Orioles, a team that doesn’t necessarily strike out at a high rate. The Pirates on the other hand have been striking out at a very high rate, ranking 5th in total strikeouts over the past 15 days. Sanchez has gotten at least four strikeouts in six out of his eight starts this season.

    Michael Kopech UNDER 5.0 Strikeouts

The Guardians have been a tough out for pitchers of late. They have the fewest number of strikeouts over the past month, averaging only 6.25 strikeouts per game during that stretch. Michael Kopech has had a rough July, allowing 10 runs in only 11 innings. Last time Kopech faced this Cleveland lineup, he had one of his best starts of the season, but that was all the way back in May. Things might not be as easy for him tonight as these franchises head in opposite directions.

Giancarlo Stanton OVER 1.5 Total Bases

It just seems like such a different Yankees lineup with Aaron Judge in the team. It will make things easier for everyone else in the lineup as indicated by their 8-3 victory on Saturday in which Stanton and Judge both homered. Over the past month, the Yankees have averaged only four runs per game. With Judge in the lineup this year, they’ve averaged five.

Anthony Santander OVER 1.5 Total Hits + Runs + RBIs

Luis Severino takes the mound for the visiting Yankees tonight and he’s been downright awful, especially in July. Severino has allowed 20 runs in 18 innings this month, with one of his July starts coming against this same Orioles squad on the 6th of the month. He couldn’t make it past the third inning in that one and gave up 10 hits in only 2.2 innings of work. Santander has homered twice off Luis Severino in eight at-bats in his career.
