• Here’s some Pick ‘Em plays our team is looking at for today’s MLB slate!

    Writer’s Record: 2-2-1 (-1.5 Units)

    Kenta Maeda UNDER 4.5 Strikeouts

This will be Maeda’s first game back in nearly two months. The Twins will most likely be cautious with him in his first start back. Minnesota faces their division rivals in Detroit who, over the last five games, have struck out only 23 times. That’s the lowest team strikeout total over the last week and is good for only 4.6 Ks/game.

    Kyle Freeland OVER 3.0 Strikeouts

You’re not going to see a lower strikeout total for a starter who throws 90+ pitches a game. The Rockies will be at home to take on the Angels. The Rockies are a different team at home and Kyle Freeland is much more effective at home. On the road, he averages two strikeouts a game and at Coors, he averages 4.5 strikeouts a game.

Byron Buxton OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs

Byron Buxton has been in and out of this lineup all year battling injuries. When he is right, he is one of the best hitters in the league. Buxton hit two home runs last night, both of which were bombs. I’m going to ride the hot hand with the Twins going into Detroit tonight, who enter the game with a -70 run differential.

Corey Seager OVER 8.5 Fantasy Points

The Rangers will be in the Bronx tonight to take on the sorry Yankees. Corey Seager has been ridiculous this year since coming back from the IL. If he qualified, he’d be second in batting average behind only Luis Arraez. The left-handed batting Corey Seager will be licking his chops with that short porch in right field. Seager is hitting .365 and has seven of his 10 home runs against right-handed pitchers this year. Inconsistent, right-handed Clarke Schmidt will be on the mound for the Yankees tonight.

    Tournament Plays

Jose Ramirez OVER 0.5 Total Hits

J-Ram has a hit in 13 out of the last 14 games. He has a total of 25 hits over that stretch. 36 year old Wade Miley gets the start for the Brewers tonight. He was actually pretty good in his first start back, but he should have a short leash.

Tim Anderson UNDER 0.5 Total Runs

Brayan Bello will get the start for Boston tonight and he’s been pretty impressive lately. This White Sox team struggles to score runs, and when they do, it is usually via long-ball. Anderson has only scored two runs in the entire month, and both came in the first week of June.
