Here’s some Pick ‘Em plays our team is looking at for today’s MLB slate!
Writer’s Record: 31-23-3 (+1.5 Units)

Tyler Glasnow OVER 8.0 Pitcher Strikeouts
This number is pretty high, but Glasnow has been absolutely phenomenal this season since his return from the IL. The Royals are a high strikeout team, ranking fourth in striking out over the last 15 days. Glasnow ranks third in strikeout percentage, third in swinging strike percentage and third in CSW%. He left his last start early against the Braves, but still struck out eight batters in 5.1 IP. He’s been given the green light for today’s start and should pick up right where he left off with an easy matchup. Look out for weather in this one.
Charlie Morton OVER 6.5 Pitcher Strikeouts
Charlie Morton is having a weird season, but he has still been effective at striking out batters. This number was at 6.5 in his last start and he had six strikeouts through five innings, but could not get over the hump against a good Tampa team. The matchup tonight against the White Sox should prove much more manageable for him. The White Sox are averaging 10 strikeouts per game over their last nine contests.
Underdog Fantasy
Julio Urias OVER 5.0 Hits Allowed
Urias has been a totally different pitcher on the road. You have to go all the way back to April 10 to get to the last road start where he allowed less than five hits. His last road start came in Kansas City, where he allowed six hits to one of the worst teams in the league over only three innings. The Mets were getting on a little bit of a roll before the all-star break and, at home, they will look to continue their momentum against Urias who has a road ERA of 8.44 this season.
Tyler Glasnow OVER 0.5 Pitcher Wins
The team with the second best record in the league against the team with the second worst record in the league. The Rays starting one of their best pitchers against the Royals starting a rookie who has given up seven earned runs in the only two starts of his major league career.
Thrive Fantasy
Luis Arraez OVER 0.5 Total HITs
Arraez is coming off an impressive performance in the All-Star Game. He went 2-for-2 and knocked in a run to tie the game at 1-1. He has the highest probability of getting a hit out of all players, so I’m taking him to get at least one hit in a matchup against right-handed Dean Kremer. Arraez is hitting .385 against right-handers this season.
Willy Adames OVER 0.5 Total RUNs
Adames was on quite a stretch before the all-star break. This game should be pretty high scoring between the Reds and the Brewers in a hitter-friendly venue. In the three-game series between these two teams prior to the break, Adames scored a total of four runs.
