The results weren’t there yet again, but we are still getting things mostly right. We’ll see if this five-pack can stick.

Tosan Evbuomwan missed his opportunities and the Pistons played him a fewer minutes for no apparent reason. It was frustrating but ultimately I don’t consider it a bad read. Nikola Jovic struggled with foul trouble in the first half and then didn’t get to play his fourth-quarter minutes because it was a blowout. I’ll still take that play every time, especially knowing we had the chance of Caleb Martin and/or Jaime Jaquez Jr. sitting out. Jaquez Jr. did indeed sit. Siakam was largely held in check in the first half then exploded in the second half, but this whole game was strange with both teams scoring the ball like crazy. This has actually been the way this matchup has gone over the past several meetings, which I honestly wasn’t aware of when I locked in the play. It’s an oversight on my part and a missed opportunity to be sure.
