Player Tiers
Expensive Tier
Dejounte Murray ($10,400) – This is a hefty price for the dynamic guard, but one that we should have the money for on a slate like tonight. With this tag and in a matchup against a depleted Pistons team, the ownership for Murray may be less than we think, but the score may be the only thing standing in the way of stopping Murray from dropping a triple-double in this one.
Tyrese Haliburton ($8,700) – In a potential foreshadow of the Kings’ future, Haliburton has been a stud since he was handed the keys to the kingdom. Even though the Kings are starting to get healthier, De’Aaron Fox’s status is still up in the air for this one. If he is ultimately ruled out for this one once again, Haliburton is a steady force at what is still a nice value. If Fox is back, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a solid pivot in the same price range.
Mid-Tier
Terance Mann ($5,700) – With Paul George ruled out for the next few weeks as he deals with an elbow injury, a prime spot in the lineup opens up for someone to take the reins. With Reggie Jackson and Marcus Morris also out, there is a boatload of offense to go around. We’ve seen Mann step into a similar role previously and he blew up a few times. His outcome is very volatile, but he’s worth taking a shot in tournament plays as he potentially takes on the primary playmaker role.
Willy Hernangomez ($4,900) – Making a spot-start for an ill Jonas Valanciunas, Big Willy racked up over 24 fantasy points in 32 minutes against the Magic. While just hitting value is okay, he did this on a putrid 1-of-11 shooting from the field. If he makes a few more shots he could flirt with 35+ in this one.
Value
Frank Jackson ($4,800) – With the Pistons depleted, this game is in question to even be played, but if it does Frank Jackson will be in a prime spot to deliver. He played 39 minutes in the previous game, and now Josh Jackson and Cory Joseph are added to the long injury list. While Jackson isn’t known to be a playmaker, he will be the primary one for this game and that should supplement what should be 15+ shot attempts at a minimum.
Dalano Banton ($3,200) – Banton was already part of the rotation prior to the decimation of the Raptors roster, and he’s even had some productive games already this season when given a longer look. File this game under the longer look section, as it’s reported he is available to make his return from health and safety protocols and should find himself as the starting point guard against another team hit hard by missing players. At such a cheap price, Banton makes a lot of sense on this Sunday slate.
