Win or go home! It’s Wednesday and we’ve got a two game slate! We’ll start with the East Play-In game, Miami @ Chicago, with a 219 O/U and the Bulls favoured by 1, and then we’ll have Dallas @ Sacramento, that has a 214 O/U and the Kings favoured by 4.5. In the East, Spoelstra will try to work his magic to get Miami to the next round of the Play-In, taking advantage of what could be an overmatched frountcourt in Matas Buzelis and Nikola Vucevic, who gave up the 9th most points in the paint over the past 15 games to opposing teams. Rookie Kel’el Ware and veteran star Bam Adebayo will certainly look to take advantage of it. On the West, the Mavericks started on their last two games, excluding the season finale, a backcourt of… Klay Thompson and Naji Marshall, because defense wins championships, with Spencer Dinwiddie and Max Christie playing major roles of the bench. The Mavs backcourt experiment ranked them dead last in tov% in the last five regular season news, excellent news for a certain Kings defensive menace! Let’s get started!

Kel’el Ware
Position: C
Salary: $6,200
Besides the aforementioned 9th most points in the paint over the last 15 games, the Bulls allow the 8th most points to opposing Cs over the last 30 games and Kel’el Ware averaged 12 ppg and 10.3 rpg in three games against them this season, shooting 60% from the field in those matchups. Nikola Vucevic can be an offensive force, but both Vuc and rookie Matas Buzelis aren’t defensive centerpieces, and Ware has an extra two inches over both. Pair that with Ware’s presence around the rim, Bam’s offensive orchestration in the high block and Spoelstra’s Playoff game experience, and we could see the Heat exploiting the mismatch that Ware will cause with his height and finishing advantages. On shots less than 10 ft from the rim, Ware leads the Miami clubhouse by a mile, making 204 out of 309 shots from that range this season, good for a 66% clip. In comparison, and albeit with a much lower volume, Ware’s 66% mark from that range surpass Nikola Jokic, Karl-Anthony Towns, Ivica Zubac, Domantas Sabonis, Evan Mobley and a slew of superstar Centers, falling short only of Giannis Antetokoumpo, Jalen Duren and Jarrett Allen out of the players with the highest volume this season. Ware is amazing and a star in the making, and his close range effiency against a team lacking a true rim protector could do fantasy wonders.
