You may be wondering why Victor Wembanyama is smiling in the featured photo. It’s because he’s now playing with the Point Guard who orchestrated the 7th best offense in the league per offensive rating prior to the trade. With Chris Paul on the floor, the Spurs had a bottom-10 pace in the league – 98.51. De’Aaron Fox’s pace this season is only marginally higher, standing at 99.01, but he was the main character in the Kings previous seasons top-10 teams in both pace and offensive rating. A Domantas Sabonis led offense can’t be compared to a Wembanyama led one, and this Spurs offense has an extremely high potential in how it can produce fantasy points – high pace, high effectiveness. You can already imagine Wemby throwing Bill Walton-like fastbreak paces to a lightning quick Fox. And there’s no better team to emphasize this than a matchup against the Hawks. The Hawks are 2nd in the league in pace, allow the 4th best fg%, 5th best 3pt% and the 5th most assists. And to opposing PGs? They allow the most threes and 6th best fg%. In fact, Fox might not be the only stellar Spurs play today. As the Hawks should matchup Dyson Daniels against Fox, Trae Young should be defending rookie sensation Stephon Castle ($5,300), and the Hawks allow the 2nd most points, 5th most assists and 4th most steals to opposing SGs. The Spurs newly formed backcourt has a lot of untapped potential and they’re playing in the game with the highest O/U of the slate – 242.5!
