• Game four! It’s Tuesday and we’ve got the Knicks @ Pacers (-2.5), with a 220.5 O/U and Aaron Nesmith questionable! In game three, the Knicks won on the back of one of Indiana’s worst shooting performances of the playoffs, shooting 44% from the field and 20% from deep. On the other hand, the Knicks dominated the paint with 40 points there and 14 2nd chance points. Nesmith’s ankle injury led Ben Sheppard leading the Pacers bench with 17 minutes, but the real difference makers were T.J. McConnell, with 12 points in 15 minutes, and former Knick Obi Toppin, who had a +19 plus/minus in 14 minutes. There’s a lot more to get to, so let’s get started!

    Jalen Brunson

    Position: PG

    Salary: $17,400 / $11,600

The Knicks scored just two fastbreak points in game three and eight points off turnovers. Indiana has an incredibly low 10.5% tov% in this series, leading to the Knicks offense being even more halfcourt centered than it already was against the Celtics. That has led to Jalen Brunson’s usage rate being at 39.5% in his last three games, with him taking 70 shots! That volume reigns supreme out of every other starter playing today, with the 2nd highest usage rate coming at 29.3%, courtesy of Karl-Anthony Towns. Moreover, the Pacers have allowed a playoff-high 28.5 fta per game, and it’s no coincidence that Brunson has drained 27 free-throws so far in the series. Jalen had four personal fouls in the first half in game three, limiting him to only 31 minutes and 26 fpts, gathering just a lone assist. But he had seven potential assists, highlighting his halfcourt creation that should be in high-demand again. With no incumbent foul trouble, Jalen should play more minutes and continue to take advantage from the Pacers limited interior presence, which made him score 10 points in the paint and 10 free-throws in game three, all while rocking with a monster usage rate.
