DFS Delivery for Tuesday, December 31

  • We’re here to wish you a Happy New Year and to help you get in 2025 the best way possible! And on this beautiful Tuesday the NBA has presented us with a magnificent six game slate, split into an earlier one with two games – Raptors @ Celtics and Bucks @ Pacers – and a later one with four games. Out of the later one, the highest O/U belongs to the Grizzlies @ Suns, standing at 236.5. And Dorian Finney-Smith is making his debut for the Lakers! They’re playing against the Cavs, who are on a back-to-back, but have been playing amazing basketball, with just one loss in December. The Grizzlies are playing the Suns in what could be Devin Booker’s return, but the Grizzlies have eight players ruled out today. They’ve been hit by the injury bug yet again, but are standing firmly near the top of the West and the same can’t be said for the Suns. But we’ll get to Memphis players in a bit, let’s get started!

    DFS Pillar Plays

    Jaren Jackson Jr.

    Salary: $8,700

    Position: PF/C

The Memphis Grizzlies played against OKC on the 29th without Ja Morant, and Jaren Jackson Jr. finished the game with 13 points and 5 rebounds, while Desmond Bane put up a 22/9/4 stat line. In the previous game without Ja, Jaren Jackson had yet again a 13-5 game, and Bane had 23/5/8 with four steals. Well, Desmond Bane ($7,500) still is a solid option, but the Suns allow the 2nd least points to opposing SGs. And to opposing PFs? That sits on the opposite site of the spectrum, with the Suns allowing the 6th most points and 2nd most threes. But without Zach Edey, Jaren Jackson should be starting again at C. And it’s even better, as the Suns allow the 2nd most points to opposing Cs! Even with those subpar games, the former DPOY is averaging 21.9 ppg, 5.7 rpg and 2 bpg in 13 games without Ja Morant this season in just 26.8 mpg. With so many players out, it’s conceivable to think that Jaren Jackson could see an uptick in minutes, and the offensive matchup could do wonders when paired with that. And as we’re talking about Memphis, let’s not forget about Scotty Pippen Jr. ($5,800) and Jay Huff ($3,800). The first is averaging 14.5 ppg, 6.5 apg and 4.3 rpg in 13 games without Ja Morant this season, while the later presents himself as the only big presence on the Memphis squad besides Jaren Jackson Jr. And Huff scored 17 points in 17 minutes last game. In five games where he played 15+ minutes in December, the big man scored in double digits four times.
