    The first slate of the NBA season is upon us. This season, we’ll base our articles on FanDuel and we’ll add a “player designation” segment to better categorize our favourite plays. Today, we’ve got OKC favoured by 7.5 at home against the Rockets, with the O/U set at 227.5, and the Warriors favoured by 2.5 points on the road vs. the Lakers, with the O/U set at 225.5 points. Regarding injuries with rotation implications, Dorian Finney-Smith, Ja’Sean Tate and Fred Vanvleet are out for the Rockets, Isaiah Joe, Jalen Williams, Keinrich Williams and Nikola Topic are out for OKC, De’Anthony Melton and Moses Moody are out for the Warriors and LeBron James is out for the Lakers. Both Jimmy Butler and Jonathan Kuminga are probable to play. Without further ado, let’s get started!

    DFS Pillar Plays

    Amen Thompson

    Position: PG/SG

    Salary: $7,600

    Player Designation: Breakout Game

    Amen Thompson has the 8th highest price-tag of the slate and projects to be around the 20th highest roster percentage. With Ime Udoka stating that Amen is starting, the Rockets will play with a jumbo lineup – Amen, KD, Jabari Smith and Steven Adams – and need Amen’s playmaking skills. In 18 games without Fred Vanvleet in the lineup last year, Amen averaged 15.8 ppg, 8.6 rpb, 5.6 apg, 1.3 spg and 1.7 bpg. With more playmaking and ball-handling duties heading his way, we should expect a sizeable points and assists bump for Amen with all the fantasy goodies still in there. According to our projections, Amen is expect to return top-10 value in the slate and is one of two players with that value that rank outside the top-10 in projected roster percentage. Amen is set to breakout as a fantasy superstar as the Rockets PG and we’re here to jump on it before it happens in-game.
