It’s Thursday and we have a beautiful five game slate! The Anthony Davis-less Lakers are facing the 40-losses Wizards, the Hawks are facing the Cavs on a possible playoff preview, the Wolves are facing the game-time-decision due to rest Jazz, the Rockets and budding star Amen Thompson are facing the Grizzlies in another possible playoff preview and the Blazers, who have won six out of their past seven games, are facing the almost fully healthy Magic! The two highest O/U belong, unsurprisingly, to the games that the high paced Grizzlies and Hawks are playing in! The Rockets @ Grizzlies game stands at 236.5 and the Hawks @ Cavs at 238.5. Let’s get started!

Hawks vs. Cavaliers
The Hawks and Cavs have played twice this season, and there’s a lot of interesting stats to extract from those games. Let’s take a look at the combined points, rebounds, assists and shots taken (in that order) of the following players:
Darius Garland ($7,600) 48/5/12 on 33 shots;
Donovan Mitchell ($8,400) 42/15/13 on 47 shots;
Trae Young ($9,800) 41/7/33 on 30 shots;
De’Andre Hunter ($6,200) 49/10/4 on 28 shots;
Zaccharie Risacher ($4,100) 28/5/1 on 18 shots.
Firstly, why focus on perimeter players? The Hawks and Cavs are both top-10 in pace, resulting on the highest O/U of the slate, and the Hawks allow the 4th best 3pt% to opposing teams in the league. The Cavs? They allow the 7th best. The results? Both rank highly in points, assists and threes given up to opposing PGs and SGs. And now, the Hawks will be without Jalen Johnson, boosting the value of Hunter, Risacher and Vit Krejci ($5,900). Krejci is averaging 12.4 ppg, 3.6 rpg and 3.9 apg in eight games without Jalen Johnson this season, and in the past three games he played 35 mpg and got 46, 19.25 and 28.75 fpts. There are so many good options, so what stats should we trust? Donovan Mitchell cleared everyone in shots taken in both matchups, but he shot poorly from the field. Over his past six games, Mitchell is shooting 47/38/87 splits on his way to 29.5 ppg. If he can pair his recent efficiency with his usage from the past Hawks games, we’re in for a fantasy treat! For $1,200 less than Trae and $800 more than Garland, Donovan Mitchell takes the expensive guards crown! Regarding the Hawks wings that will be looking to explore that 7th best 3pt% allowed in the league, Hunter’s 49 points in both matchups and 46 shots taken in his past two games suggest something special could be brewing for this game, as the Hawks will need his offense of the bench with Bogdan Bogdanovic also ruled out. But price-wise, the rookie RIsacher is the most intriguing play. He returned from injury on the 27th vs. the Wolves and got 28.25 fpts on just 20 minutes. There’s so many great options to be taken out of this matchup, as proven by the fantasy-fest that the previous battles between these teams were. Check the lineup builder for our favourite suggestion!
