Kel’el Ware
Position: C
Salary: $6,000
The number one factor in Kel’el Ware’s favour is health, as he’s the only regular Heat starter without a questionable tag, increasing his potential value if any fellow Heat misses the game. But this only increases what should already be seen as a tremendous fantasy upside for the slate. Over the last 15 games, the Sixers have the 29th defensive rating, the 30th defensive rebounding %, allow the most 2nd chance points and the 3rd most points in the paint. But wait! Ware can also shoot from deep, as his 32% 3pt% on 105 attempts on the season illustrate. Well, over the same time span, the Sixers are allowing the 3rd most threes to opposing Cs! On top of that, they’re also allowing the 2nd most points, 5th most blocks and 4th best fg%. The Sixers expected starter is Adem Bona, who in their last matchup allowed Ware to post 13 points and 14 boards on perfect shooting from the field, good for 41.5 fpts. Adem Bona ($5,300) also played a great game, putting up 38.5 fpts, and he’s averaging 33.8 fppg over his last five, but the minor 700$ difference and Ware’s potential that he’s shown throughout the season, given the context of this specific matchup, gives him the upper hand. On a final note, Ware has had his fare share of down games recently, specially due to fouls limiting his minutes. He played 19 minutes against the Bucks and 22 against the Wizards, fouling four times in both contests. Will this be a problem against the Sixers? It isn’t expected, as they’re drawing the 4th least fouls per game over the last 15 matchups.
