Welcome to the DFS Delivery, the article that helps you build your DFS lineups and focuses on the overall best plays at the time of writing.
We have 9 games on the slate tonight, with 4 teams being on a back-to-back, and most of the games projected to have a tight spread, so we should be getting good minutes out of the studs.
Not a lot of value is open at the time that I am writing this, but – as always – do keep an eye out on the news, because some news will eventually pop up and we will get all the value we need.
So, let’s dive into my favorite plays at the moment, for this 9-game slate.
Player Tiers
Expensive Tier
Karl-Anthony Towns ($10,100) – With Edwards off the court this season, Towns has a team-high 34.6% usage rate which is well ahead of number two. Last game out, he had 39 points in just 32 minutes. We could see something similar in this one against a Thunder team that is about average in terms of pace and defensive efficiency. Through sheer volume alone, Towns is my preferred pay-up option.
Kyle Kuzma ($9,400) – Considering how the Wizards are using Kuzma now, he is their clear number one, which puts his fantasy ceiling very high. He has averaged more than 21 shots a game over the last three and in that stretch is putting up 30 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and three blocks+steals, which is about as good as you’ll see in fantasy. Tonight he is going up against Atlanta, a team that is the 27th-ranked defense on the season and this offers a good opportunity for Kuzma to thrive once again.
Mid-Tier
D’Angelo Russell ($7,800) – Anthony Edwards is set to miss another game and although KAT is the number one beneficiary, Russell has the second-highest usage rate on the team behind him this season when Edwards is off the court. His assist rate climbs by 5% when he doesn’t share the court with Edwards and with the fact that he will be going up against the depleted Thunder team means he may very well end up giving us a huge score tonight.
Malcolm Brogdon ($7,200) – He did play 41 minutes last game out, so I guess all the concerns we had about him being on a minutes limit are out of the window. He still produced at a high level and with the Pacers playing a quick pace now with their guards and this game has the third-highest total of the slate at 230.5, he looks like an excellent value at his price.
Value
Precious Achiuwa ($4,200) – In his past six games, he has averaged 25.5 DKFP in 24.0 minutes per game but he has also shown that he has a high ceiling with two 37 DKFP outings also. Last night, with Thad Young sidelined with an illness, he played 28 minutes and got to 26 DKFP again. If Young is sidelined again, Achiuwa has an even clearer path to minutes but either way, I like him a lot tonight.
Malik Beasley ($3,200) – Beasley is scoring-dependent, which makes him a risky fantasy pick. However, there’s upside there, especially with Anthony Edwards sidelined tonight. He got 28 minutes last game, the highest minutes he played in 2022, and ended up with 20 points and 4 rebounds. He did show us that he does not need a lot of minutes to score fantasy points for us, especially if his shot is falling, but there is a clear path for him to get minutes, which makes him even more enticing at his price tag.
Honorable Mentions: Nikola Jokic ($12,600), Julius Randle ($9,200), Deandre Ayton ($7,000), Scottie Barnes ($6,300), Cam Payne ($4,800), Olivier Sarr ($3,100).
