Welcome to the DFS Delivery, the article that helps you build your DFS lineups and focuses on the overall best plays at the time of the writing.
As is usually the case on Fridays, we have an action-packed basketball night with 9 games on the docket! This means that we will have plenty of options to choose from and not a lot to worry about with ownership since it is usually spread out on these big slates.
With that said, let’s check out my favorite picks at the moment.
Player Tiers
Expensive Tier
Joel Embiid ($12,300) – Embiid wants that MVP award and he is reminding us about it with his performances every night. He’s averaging 37 points, 12 rebounds and 5.2 assists in 33 minutes per game for the last month and tonight he is going up against the Mavs, who rank in the bottom-10 in fantasy points allowed to the center position.
Luka Doncic ($11900) – On the opposite side of this game, we have Luka. Although the matchup against Philly is not the easiest, it’s hard to fade Luka at this point with the kind of numbers he’s putting up. He has scored 30 or more points in each of the last three games and with Kristaps still out, I cannot see how he will fail us tonight.
Jayson Tatum ($10,600) – The Celtics are 7-3 in their last 10 games and tonight they look to keep things going against the Pistons, a team that ranks 27th in fantasy points allowed to the small forward position and 25th in Defensive Rating as a team. Tatum has not been playing well lately but that should keep his ownership low but his usage will not take a hit regardless.
Mid-Tier
Gary Trent Jr. ($6,400) – I played Trent Jr. yesterday and he had 30 fantasy points in last night’s win vs Chicago. Considering that he had a 5 game streak of scoring 40-plus fantasy points, you can say that this was a disappointing outing but tonight I will go to him again, since he will play huge minutes, and go up against an Atlanta team that does not guard the perimeter well.
Josh Giddey ($6,000) – With Shai Gilgeous-Alexander out, Giddey is shouldering more of the offensive load, averaging 14 points, 9.5 rebounds, and seven assists in the last 2 games. As you can see he produces across the board, something very good for DFS production, and this provides a bigger floor for him and more safety to us. We could also see a ceiling game from him against the Blazers who run a league-average pace and are 28th in defensive efficiency.
Value
Tre Mann ($4,200) – Another player who has taken advantage of SGA being sidelined is Tre Mann since he is the one that took his spot in the starting lineup. Over his last 3 starts, Mann averaged 17 points and 2 steals, and more importantly, he is playing over 30 minutes per game. He’ll be a popular value option due to the low price tag, but I like him regardless since there are not a lot of players in his price range that could have his production, especially in a matchup vs. the fast-paced Blazers.
Honorable Mentions: Nikola Jokic ($12,400), Jusuf Nurkic ($8,200), Derrick White ($6,400), Jae’Sean Tate ($6,100), Brandon Goodwin ($4,100), Alperen Sengun ($3,400).
