54/47/85. These are Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s shooting splits since the All-Star break. Can he sustain them against the Hawks? Well, on the surface, All-Defense candidate Dyson Daniels seems to pose a big problem for the MVP favourite. But looking closely at the numbers, we can see that the Hawks allow the 2nd best fg% and 4th most 3s to opposing PGs and the 5th most points and 4th most assists to opposing SGs, showing that an elite defensive player can only take your team defense that far, at least fantasy-wise. Looking further, we can also see that the Hawks allow the 5th most attempted free-throws and the 2nd best fg% in the league since January 1st. All things point to an efficient Shai, and that’s a great proposition for your fantasy lineup. Oh, and what did Shai do in his lone game vs. the Hawks this season? 35 points, 11 boards and nine assists.
