John Wall scored a playoff career-high 42 points on 16-of-25 shooting (1-of-4 3PTs, 9-of-10 FTs) with one rebound, eight assists, four steals and two blocks in the Wizards’ clinching Game 6 win over the Hawks.
Wall had seven turnovers but who cares. The Hawks started to make a run in the middle of the fourth quarter and Wall returned to the game to make it a non-starter. Bradley Beal added 31 points on 11-of-17 shooting with two threes, 7-of-8 free throws, three boards, three assists, three steals and a block and Otto Porter scored eight points with eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and two threes. The Wizards showed some cracks with their defense and consistency as the series went on, while the Celtics got the ship righted and the two teams will collide as a relatively even matchup in Round 2.
