• DeMar DeRozan authored a simply masterful performance in Wednesday’s victory over the Sixers, collecting a career-high 45 points, tying his career-high with six 3-pointers and shooting an efficient 13-of-21 from the field.

DeRozan carried his sleepwalking teammates through the first half and kept things close before completely taking over down the stretch. Philly dared him to shoot early and DeRozan calmly knocked down the open 3-pointers as they came, stepping into each shot like a long-time sharpshooter as the game wore on. He was also 13-of-15 from the charity stripe and added five rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block to cap off a tremendous showing. DeRozan keeps adding to his game every year, and while making him shoot from the perimeter is still the strategy of choice for his opponents he’s now proven that he’s at least capable of making them pay. Fantasy owners shouldn’t expect output like that every night but he’s not as gun shy as he used to be. The added assists were the big addition this offseason as Toronto revamped its offense, so maybe the threes start coming next year. Every year brings something new with DeRozan.
