Anthony Davis was unstoppable in Saturday’s road victory, piling up 44 points, 17 rebounds, three 3-pointers, six steals and three blocks in a whopping 50 minutes of action.
Davis shot 16-of-35 from the field and his 9-of-14 from the charity stripe is the only potential blemish in this masterpiece. It’s discouraging that the Pelicans even let Brooklyn back into this game after they built up a 28-point lead, though they’re probably just happy to emerge with a win following a terrible game in Philadelphia last night. With New Orleans scrapping for a playoff spot in a packed Western Conference, AD will have to do plenty of heavy lifting the rest of the way. The Brow’s fantasy owners should be able to bank on top-5 production so long as the superstar can stay healthy. As for esoteric stats, Davis joins Bob McAdoo as the only players with multiple career games of at least 40 points, 15 rebounds and five swipes. He’s a unique talent, that’s for sure.
