Jeff Hornacek acknowledged that the Knicks will be using a different lineup after the All-Star break.
The obvious choice here is to remove veteran Jarrett Jack from the point guard spot, though the fact that the Knicks are currently rolling with four on the roster clouds things a little bit. Frank Ntilikina is the obvious stash but Emmanuel Mudiay should be taking some of those minutes away for better or worse, and Trey Burke still exists. They’re both worth adding in competitive leagues but those of you with a bit more breathing room might want to wait and see how things shake out in terms of playing time. All else equal, Ntilikina has a more promising stat set. The rash of injuries makes things a bit easier elsewhere, with Luke Kornet looking like the only potential youngster in line for more work. Enes Kanter could lose minutes, and veterans Michael Beasley and Lance Thomas could also see some reductions. New York’s depth chart doesn’t have any direct beneficiaries outside of Kornet and the point guards so we’ll have to be patient before making further recommendations.
