Robert Covington had minor surgery on his knee today to repair a torn meniscus he suffered earlier this season, according to the Sixers.
Covington missed the last eight games for the Sixers this season, but is expected to quickly recover and resume basketball activities this summer. He should be ready in time for the 2017-2018 season. In his third season in Philly, Covington started all 67 games he played in, averaging 12.9 points and 6.5 rebounds. At one point he was leading all non-power forward/centers in defensive rebounds per minute. Sixers fans are looking forward to a potential 2017-2018 starting lineup that may include Ben Simmons, Markelle Fulz, Dario Saric, Joel Embiid and Covington.
