The Pelicans announced that they have waived Mike James and the newly-acquired Rashad Vaughn.
This was an expected set of moves from the Pelicans, who never seemed intent on seeing what either player had to offer. James had a strong start to the year in Phoenix and was actually the first player to have his two-way deal converted into a standard contract but was let go shortly thereafter. He wound up playing only 18 minutes in a little under a month with New Orleans. Vaughn was just acquired from Brooklyn after they picked him up from Milwaukee. Neither player is likely to emerge as a fantasy factor any time soon, though James could pop up if a guard-needy team wants to give him a shot.
