Marc Stein is reporting that the Cavs will call on Kendrick Perkins to fill one of their open roster spots once the deadline dust settles.
Perkins is averaging 8.7 points and 7.4 rebounds in 21.2 minutes per game across 27 G-League contests this season. Just two days ago it was reported that the big man would be leaving the Canton Charge, with rumors of retirement hitting the wire as well. Perkins will fulfill his comeback wish, however, and serve as end-of-bench depth for a completely revamped Cleveland squad. More than anything, he’ll be asked to provide leadership with so much change happening over the next few days.
