Chris Haynes of ESPN reported that Kevin Durant (calf) is highly doubtful to play in Saturday’s Game 3 against the Blazers and Marc Stein reported shortly after that Durant has been ruled out.
The Warriors aren’t afraid of the Blazers in the slightest and they’re going to buy as much rest as they want for Durant. The Big 3 will absorb most of the usage and Ian Clark was the better punt play between he and Patrick McCaw in Game 2. That said, McCaw saw 34 minutes and put up nine points, five boards, one assist and one block, while Clark had 13 points, five boards and two assists in 26 minutes during the blowout. It’s possible a closer game in Portland might swing things McCaw’s direction, or away from both players and more toward the veterans in the group.Â
