Fred Hoiberg referred to a potential Rajon Rondo (hand) return in the first round as “a longshot,” though Rondo was able to do his first work with a basketball since the injury according to The Athletic’s Sean Highkin.
Rondo’s absence might cost Chicago the series, so we’ll see how hard they push to get him back out there. He remains a definite inactive for Wednesday’s Game 5 but things after that are up in the air. Until we get official word, expect Isaiah Canaan to handle the starting point guard job for the duration of the series. He certainly looked better than Jerian Grant and Michael Carter-Williams in Game 4.
