Nuggets GM Tim Connelly told Altitude 950 that Jamal Murray will have surgery tomorrow.
Murray had myriad injuries this year but managed to play in all 82 games as a rookie. The one that dogged him most is likely the sports hernia that he played through for most, if not all, of the season. He boasts season averages of 9.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.6 steals and 1.4 triples in 21.5 minutes but that doesn’t tell the whole story, as he really took off after supplanting Emmanuel Mudiay in the rotation. Denver’s other injury troubles allowed Murray to post big numbers in April – 15.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.6 threes. We’ll see what his role is next season, but he’s going to be a popular fantasy target.
