The Pistons have selected France’s Killian Hayes with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2020 draft.

Hayes was seen by some as potentially the best guard and best overall prospect in the draft, he combines creative passing with a physicality that allows him to overpower opposing guards. The Pistons have the goal of rebuilding their talent base and they’ve certainly done that by selecting Hayes. He’s active off-ball on both ends of the floor, slashing on offense and menacing the opposing team on defense. Hayes has potential to be an effective and stylish scorer, but he has to improve his shooting- he shot just 29% from beyond the arc while playing in Europe.
