ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Clippers and Cavs are still talking about a DeAndre Jordan trade, including finding a third team that may help grease the wheels in getting a deal done.
The Cavs have long been connected to DJ, but there are some very obvious barriers to getting this one off the ground — namely Cleveland’s lack of assets. Jordan isn’t going to be enough to pry away the Cavs’ Brooklyn pick and their roster is filled with bad contracts or dead weight. While a third team would certainly increase the asset pool, it’s not necessarily clear as to what they would get from either team out of the deal. The Cavs seem like a lock to make some sort of change today, so this probably isn’t the last we’ll hear from them.
