Buddy Hield went 10-of-19 from the field en route to 28 points in Wednesday's opener, adding five rebounds, two assists and six 3-pointers in 31 minutes.

And some people out there still think the Kings paid too much, though it's clear that those types just aren't paying attention. Hield did commit five turnovers but on a night where most of his teammates were mediocre or worse, that can be forgiven. Sacramento was outscored by 34 points in the second half of a 29-point loss, but Hield should escape much criticism when the team goes over the dreadful tape.
