Corey Brewer scored 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting (including a three) with seven rebounds, three assists and one steal in a start for injured Trevor Ariza (bruised back) on Wednesday against the Wizards.
We thought Brewer was ready to turn things around but unlike a lot of sites — we’ll call ourselves out on bad calls — we had Marcus Thornton (nine points, one three, one steal, 20 minutes) as the better play for tonight. This could flip flop and we’re still going to lead with Thornton the next time out if Ariza (day-to-day) misses more time, but Brewer shouldn’t be ignored and both can be used as boom-or-bust plays in 12-14 team formats.
