• Troy Williams got the start for the Grizzlies on Saturday, scoring 18 points on 6-for-12 shooting from the field.

Williams tied Marc Gasol for the team lead in minutes played for the game, and the rookie put those minutes to good use. In addition to his 18 points, Williams chipped in with three rebounds, two steals and a couple of treys. After starting and playing 30 minutes on November 1 against the Wolves, Williams had been glued to the bench until seeing 20 minutes off the bench yesterday. It is encouraging to see Williams do something with the limited playing time, but keep in mind the Grizzlies were without Randolph (personal) and Parsons (knee), both of whom should soak up the majority of Williams’ minutes when they return. However, with a limited bench, Williams could carve out a useful streaming role should his efficient play continue when called on.
