Rodney Hood came off the bench on Sunday but still had a nice debut with the Cavs, potting 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting with three triples, a steal and a block in a romp over the Celtics.
Hood played just 19 minutes but found himself with a few wide open looks against a Celtics squad that looked very out of sorts. He certainly made them pay and it was his contributions in the first half that helped turn the tide in the second quarter. He’ll be much the same fantasy player he was in Utah, though owners should keep an eye on his playing time. J.R. Smith, the current starter, was perhaps inspired by Hood’s arrival and scored 15 points of his own in 29 minutes. He added six rebounds, three 3-pointers, a steal and two blocks while shooting 6-for-7. Smith has been dreadful for much of the season but perhaps some fresh blood (as well as potential competition for his job) will kickstart his campaign.
