• James Harden
    PG, Houston Rockets

The Rockets' player development coach John Lucas has emerged as a candidate to take over the team's head coaching vacancy, per Marc Stein.

Lucas has been with the Rockets for four years and has a strong working relationship with both James Harden and Russell Westbrook according to Stein. He played in the league from 1976 to 1990, playing his final season in Houston. Several big coaching names still remain on the market, but the Rockets may make the technocratic choice and promote Lucas from within.
