ESPN's Tim Bontemps reported Monday that his sources have "emphatically" stated the Bucks won't look to trade Giannis if he turns down the supermax extension offer this offseason.

The world has become accustomed to superstar trades in recent years but it seems the Bucks will flip the script with Giannis. Despite the emphatic sentiment, reporting of this nature could easily be interpreted as the organization solidifying their leverage in advance of the offseason. This could also be seen as Bucks insiders sending a signal to Giannis that they're committed above all else to continuing to compete. Only time will tell, but perhaps this report will quell Giannis trade speculation for the time being.
