Paul Millsap scored 21 points with 11 boards and two assists in Wednesday’s loss to the Wizards, as the Hawks fell behind 3-2 in the series.
Millsap got Markieff Morris into early foul trouble, and continually feasted on the block all night. He shot 8-of-19 from the floor and 5-of-6 from the line, repeatedly drawing contact and getting to the charity stripe when things broke down offensively. In fact, if it weren’t for Millsap and the heroics of Denis Schroder the Hawks likely would have been run off the floor in this one. Millsap isn’t the player he was a few years ago, but he has enough left in the tank to keep this series interesting. The Hawks will be looking for the rest of their rotation to step up around him on Friday.
