Toney Douglas had a strong game with 22 points, four rebounds, five assists, four steals, two 3-pointers on 6-of-13 shooting from the field and a perfect 8-for-8 from the line.
Douglas has played himself into sixth-round value over the last month of the season and depending on his role next year and what happens to the moving pieces in New Orleans, he could carve himself out a decent role. Next year Eric Gordon and Norris Cole come off the books and if they don’t return, Douglas should step into the sixth-man role for the Pelicans. He’s carried the team on his back to close the season out for the Pelicans who have experienced one of the most injury-laden seasons we have ever seen.
James Ennis scored a team-high 28 points and six 3-pointers and Omer Asik added a solid double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds.
