Malik Monk logged 24 minutes off the bench on Saturday and was able to deliver 17 points on 7-of-17 from the field with three triples, three assists and four turnovers.
The turnovers aren't great but it was good to see Monk have a nice scoring outing. This tied for his third-best scoring game of the campaign, with two 20-plus games coming back in early November as the only performances sitting prettier. The Hornets talked a big game in the preseason about getting Monk time at both guard spots this year so we'll see what the final few games have in store. Jeremy Lamb's absence and Dwayne Bacon's injury helped him out a bit today and it's possible that Monk comes into value as a 3-point specialist or a low-end, top-200 type of option.
