Kyle Lowry did all his work from behind the arc in Sunday’s blowout, going 4-of-9 from the field for 12 points with three rebounds and seven assists in 27 minutes.
The Raptors have to be thrilled that they’re taking Lowry’s minutes down substantially even if it is hurting his fantasy potential. The Raptors starters haven’t played in the fourth quarter since February 4th. While owners are probably bummed that Lowry isn’t getting a massive workload, they should also be happy that this brake pumping will help keep him healthy for the stretch run. He’s a solid top-40 player even if he’s doing damage in only three quarters. As a side note, this was Dwane Casey’s 300th victory. He and Lowry will always be connected, as it was Casey who was able to settle down a player who came in with a reputation for being pugnacious, unlocking Lowry’s All-Star form. The two are overseeing the most successful run in franchise history.
