Wolves rookie Justin Patton is slowly working his way back from offseason foot surgery, reacclimating himself on the court, getting back in game shape and improving his passing skills.
Through 25 games, he is averaging 11.9 points, five rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 20.1 minutes per contest. The franchise has taken it slow with Patton, bringing him back on a minutes restriction that has increased as the season progressed. Tom Thibodeau said that there haven’t been any setbacks in Patton’s recovery and while Wolves’ fans are antsy to see the team’s rookie center, it will probably take some time for him to make his NBA debut. “Because he had missed so much time, we think it’s better for him to develop playing down in the G-League,” Thibodeau said. “I think he’s gotten a lot out of it.” Patton is a nice stash in dynasty leagues but it’s unlikely he has any fantasy impact this year.
