Coach Scott Brooks said that Jason Smith (calf contusion) did very little at shootaround but Smith said he is feeling good and hopeful he’ll be able to play in Game 6 on Friday against the Hawks.
With Ian Mahinmi yet to make an appearance this postseason, Smith has averaged 17.6 minutes with 4.0 points and 3.6 rebounds while shooting only 38.6 percent from the field. The Wizards are relying on him to continue backing up Markieff Morris and Marcin Gortat with Mahinmi ruled out for Game 6. If Smith cannot go, expect Markieff Morris to play some center with undrafted rookie Daniel Ochefu possibly getting a few minutes as well.
