Ivica Zubac told the LA Daily News’ Mark Medina that he’ll be ready to start next season.
Zubac also acknowledged that the Lakers will have an open competition, which jives with what Timofey Mozgov said about his own desires to start next year. He’ll head to Croatia shortly for a few weeks before returning to LA to train for the rest of the offseason. You have to imagine that the team’s brass would love if Zubac could outright win the job in camp, as he’s certainly a more important part of the competitive future than Mozgov. He certainly has more fantasy upside, as well. Zubac started 11 games last season, averaging 10.1 points and 5.3 rebounds in 20.9 minutes.
