Ish Smith played 29 minutes on Sunday but was largely ineffective, going just 1-of-4 from the field for two points while adding seven assists and five turnovers.

This certainly wasn’t his finest showing and Jameer Nelson played decently with six points and five assists in 19 minutes, but we wouldn’t expect Smith to lose his job by any stretch of the imagination. The presence of Nelson might shorten his leash a bit but owners should feel comfortable rolling with Smith for a steady source of assists and steals. The efficiency and turnovers are a known part of the deal at this point. The other thing that Nelson does is bump Langston Galloway from the rotation. Previously the backup to Smith, Galloway was a DNP-CD today.
