Blake Griffin scored 21 points on 10-of-20 shooting (1-of-2 FTs) with seven boards and seven assists in Friday’s trap loss to the Blazers in Portland.
He tweaked his knee and we’ll be watching out for updates on it, but so far it doesn’t seem like a big deal. At 55 and 75 percent from the field and line, respectively, Griffin is about five percentage points higher than our projections in both departments. He looks great and he’s handling a ton of the scoring load early in the season, which could be a function of Chris Paul needing some kid gloves early on in the year. If it sounds like we’re prepping you for a sell-high position on Griffin and his top-15 value we are — but with the caveat that this may be the best shape he’s been in over the last two years and his mentality has a different edge. Don’t sell for anything less than top-20 value right now with the name value he has.
