Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry said on Thursday that E’Twaun Moore has beat out rookie Buddy Hield for the team’s starting shooting guard spot.

The defense and veteran presence is probably what gave Moore the edge. Hield should still see significant minutes this season and has the potential to be a 3-point specialist with scoring ability. Both should can be viewed as late-round pick ups on draft day.

Gentry also said E'Twaun Moore has won starting shooting guard spot for regular season over rookie Buddy Hield.
