New York Knicks beat reporter Chris Iseman relayed that coach David Fizdale benched second-year guard Frank Ntilikina so he could take a step back and see the game from a different perspective.

Ntilikina has gotten DNPed for three straight games and coach Fiz noted that he has benched Emmanuel Mudiay, Trey Burke and Damyean Dotson for consecutive games at different points in the season and they have largely responded well upon returning to the court. We can only hope Ntilikina has gotten some new insights from the bench and although we don’t know when the young guard will make it back, it looks like it could be sooner than later. Emmanuel Mudiay will hold down the fort with no Ntilikina or Burke (knee) and is a steaming option as long as he’s the only point guard playing.
