Al Horford scored a team-high 16 points on Thursday as the Celtics were clobbered by the Wizards in a brutal road loss.
The Wizards put this one away early and made sure to clamp down rather than surrender another big lead. They’ll happily allow Horford and Jae Crowder to pace Boston in points. On the positive side, the big man continues his strong playoffs and is beginning to sway some of those who are so critical of his max deal. Horford added two boards, three dimes, four triples, a steal and a block while shooting 5-of-8 from the field. The assists are usually higher, but the low total isn’t surprising since the C’s shot .351 as a team. Despite Boston holding a 2-1 series lead, Washington has almost unarguably been the better team aside from two fourth quarters. Boston will need to make some adjustments to their early-game efforts if they want a chance to clinch at home in Game 5.
