• Christmas came early for the Kings Monday as Bobby Marks reported that Sacramento will receive an extra $2 million from their waiving of veterans Anthony Tolliver and Arron Afflalo.

Both of the players were released last offseason as the team ridded themselves of older players as they fully invested in their youth.

The team can now spend the cash in trades prior to July 1. This would include draft day trades as well, which general manager Vlade Divac and his staff have not shied away from the past couple of years.

In 2016, the Kings traded Marco Belinelli for the 22nd overall pick in the draft and also traded the No. 8 pick to the Suns for the No. 13 and 28 picks as well as Bogdan Bogdanovic.

In 2017, Sacramento once again made moves on draft day as they shipped the No. 10 pick away for the No. 15 and 20 picks.

The Kings will pick no lower than No. 10 in this year’s draft, and they very well could be in the mix to make another deal this time around.
