The Sacramento Kings head to Milwaukee Saturday night looking to end their current three game skid with a win against the Bucks. Â The Kings have struggled recently, and despite losing Khris Middleton early, the Bucks have managed to start off with a very respectable 3-2 record.
While Milwaukee has looked strong to start the season, Sacramento should be able to get out with a win. Â A loss tonight would push the King’s record on this road trip to 0-4, so while it’s too early in the season to call a game a “must win” for Sacramento, Saturday night’s matchup does seem to approach that level.
Here are some things to watch for Saturday night:
- Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee reported Saturday morning that Rudy Gay has been listed as doubtful for the game against Milwaukee. Â Sacramento has relied heavily on Gay to this point, so the Kings will need someone to step up in his absence. Â Fortunately, Sacramento is plenty deep at both forward positions, so Dave Joerger won’t be too pressed to find a replacement.
- Giannis Antetokounmpo has gotten off to a very hot start for Milwaukee, so the Kings will need to find a way to slow him down. Â Considering his elite athletic ability, the Kings may struggle to find someone to stay in front of him. Â Look for coach Joerger to try a few different players to see which matchup works best.
Milwaukee has built an identity as a long and athletic team, which plays very well to Sacramento’s weaknesses. Â Sacramento will need to play to their strengths and keep this a half court game if they plan to leave Milwaukee with the win.
